May 16, 2019, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
The Government of Vietnam is bringing a group of apparel factories to Canada in May 2019 for meetings to introduce these firms to Canadian importers.
Meetings will be held in Vancouver and Montreal. Please review details below and contact the Vietnamese embassy if you would like to be involved.
The delegation consists of large, export-oriented firms, led by Vinatex - the dominant manufacturing group in the industry.
The meetings are being arranged IN PART to help Canadian and Vietnamese companies take advantage of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CP-TPP) - which came into force earlier this year. Even without the duty relief provided by the CP-TPP, Vietnam is an increasingly competitive supplier of apparel products.
The participating firms are vertically integrated and have the knowledge and capacity to produce goods that meet the yarn-forward rules of origin set in the agreement. The Vietnamese delegation will present a short overview of their industry’s capabilities and information on the CP-TPP. There will also be opportunities for one-on-one meetings with these companies.
The mission will feature:
Products the participating firms produce include: Knit apparel, tailored clothing, shirts, pants, outerwear, dresses, skirts, underwear and more.
