The Canadian Apparel Federation, Deloitte Canada, and Miller Thompson are holding a breakfast meeting and seminar in Vancouver on customs issues relevant to apparel and footwear importers.

The session will address issues highlighted by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) in their Trade Compliance Verifications publication. Their most recent report on verification activities identified over $60 million recovered from Canadian apparel importers following CBSA verification audits.

The high duty rates paid by apparel, textile products, and footwear importers attract significant compliance actions by CBSA.  Importers need to know the key issues and enforcement strategies of CBSA, and understand how to manage compliance risks.
