The program will involve services to allow Canadian firms to assess their suitability for the market, prepare for market entry, and meet contacts needed to develop business.  It is tailored towards companies with established export programs and clearly differentiated products.  A outline of the program will be in the next week.

The program will include:

• Background on the Australian market, export procedures, and information resources
• Information sessions on commercial and legal issues in Australia
• Customized one on one match-making with local agents
• Visits to retail establishments
• Partial support for travel expenses* (approximately half of eligible travel expenses will be covered, through support from International Trade Canada)
• There will be a participation fee charged to participating firms - covering planning and logistics, and related costs.
