Job Description / Duties

Purpose and Scope – Reporting to the Director of Application Development, this role to support the administration and management of the Pre-Production system and lifecycle environments using Java/J2EE, Microsoft Technologies, Oracle and Windows Server 2003/2008.

Responsibilities:
•Resolve technical production support incidents working with functional support team adhering to the established SLAs for applications
•Perform the Pre-production lifecycle environments administration through the project phase and production steady state
Systems: Gerber WebPDM/PTC FlexPLM
oBuild & Deploy
oCode promotion using Aldon lifecycle management software
oVersion controlling of source code using Aldon lifecycle management software
oBackup and recovery
oPerformance tuning
•Perform the application administration through the project phase and production steady state for the pre-production systems
Systems: Gerber WebPDM/PTC FlexPLM
oSecurity administration
oEnd user license management
oSystem configurations/Customization
oWork with management, Vendors and Infrastructure to plan Pre Production systems upgrades and patches
oManage backup and recovery strategies to support documented SLA’s for supported applications.
•Provide support through problem determination and trouble shooting of technical problems, working with vendor, Infrastructure and application teams to achieve timely resolution
•Performance Tuning & Management:
oWork with DBA’s on fine tuning the application
oPerformance Analysis and Tuning recommendations
oDevelop and manage scripts used to determine performance improvement opportunities
oAssist Development and Support groups with performance improvement recommendations
•Capacity Monitoring, Analysis, Forecasting & Planning:
oPartner with infrastructure and DBA’s on creating utilization statistics
oAnalyze utilization statistics and forecast future system resource requirements
oExplain system utilization trending
•Supports internal/external developers in the SDLC activities and ensure the timely and quality delivery of deliverables and provide guidelines as needed.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Required Qualifications/Skills
•4 year BA degree or Community College with Technical Certification
•Hands-on experience in Java build/deployment process on a Apache/Tomcat environment
•Hands-on experience in managing Web Server landscape – Apache/Tomcat/IIS 6/7 and Windows 2003
•Experience with Windows IIS 6/7 and Web based application development/deployment using Microsoft technologies
•Hands-on development experience with Java/JSP/Servlets/Apache/Tomcat
•Familiarity with .NET based development and System Deployment.
•Strong development experience in Oracle/Stored Procedures and PL/SQL
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Excellent troubleshooting and complex problem solving skills
•Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision on assignments
•Experience in Retail or Apparel industry is an asset
•Experience with version Controlling/Life cycle management software is an asset
•Experience with ASP/VB/DCOM technologies is an asset
•Experience with Crystal report development is an asset
