Job Description / Duties

What you’ll be doing

- Leading the execution and delivery of the Production team to meet seasonal product sourcing strategies and product plans. Planning, managing and delivering initiatives and workplans with in-depth understanding of the product lifecycle
- Implementing and executing MEC production, in accordance with MEC’s brand policies ensuring product and production standards and expectations are met
- Planning, implementing, and managing production resources, calendars, initiatives, structure, and processes/systems to optimize delivery of business requirements
- Defining and leading vendor performance metrics in order to inform decisions on sourcing – to this end assess and evaluate capabilities and establish and build production relationships
- Managing, developing, coaching, supervising and reviewing performance of the Production Coordinator team
- Leading the proactive resolution of predicted or actual issues
- Working cross-functionally to participate in initiatives that contribute to the growth, improvement and evolution of the MEC Brand
- Leading and coordinating special projects or initiatives
- Constantly learning about product, product categories, product features

Qualifications / Required Skills

What you need to do it well

- Completion of post-secondary education in related field i.e. Manufacturing, Business, Engineering
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in garment and/or outdoor equipment production
- Minimum 5 to 7 years in a management/supervisory role
- Extensive knowledge/background in garment and/or outdoor equipment construction
- Develop and manage high performance teams to meet deadlines and deliverables in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, negotiation and planning skills
- Exceptional communication skills, oral and written.
- Effective time management and organization skills
- Working ability and functional expertise in Windows environment (Word, Excel), experience with product data and production management systems considered an asset
- An appreciation for being active and getting outside, and a passion for the products that enable this

Additional Information

Salary: annual salary based on experience
