Our established and highly successful apparel client based in the York/Durham Region, known for their diverse lifestyle product line that caters to a very specific niche, requires a District Sales & Business Development Manager to help grow their business. This is a key position for a product that is sold in both B2B and B2C markets. This position will report to the President.
1) Business Development (65% of role)
The primary task is to develop the US market place in respect of the company's current Brand Licenses. This is an exciting area of exponential growth and is key to our expansion. The Business Development aspect of this role requires a great sales person, with the ability to identify and present to new markets, while having the core financial planning, regional call structure experience (i.e. able to plan sales strategy and execute same) and deliver financial returns in line with an aggressive Business Plan.
Core skills required for this role include (but are not limited to):
-Efficient Business Planning skills. Objective. Strategy. Plan.
-Good understanding of financials, gross and net margins, setting of selling prices against defined margin goals.
-Ability to engage new clients in Business to Business markets.
-Exceptional selling skills.
-Understanding of the sales process and back end internal systems associated with a high quality organization.
-Able to accurately forecast and plan inventory needs in line with sales objectives.
-Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office, Email, Excel (advanced Excel skills are preferred), Power Point and Word.
-Good cost management skills in respect of variable costs associated with the business.
2) Sales Management (35% of role)
This aspect of the role focuses on guiding and coaching an already experienced sales team, comprising Brand Managers and Inside Sales Associates. You will be expected to integrate your sales leadership knowledge into a high performing team, while improving systems and processes. Already an accomplished sales person yourself, you will gain the respect and support from the sales group while interpreting and delivering the strategic plans of the business as directed by the President and Senior Managers.
Core skills required for this role include (but are not limited to:
-Setting the Business Plan in line with strategic objectives and financial goals.
-Clear understanding of pricing models, margin and profit creation, and reporting.
-Able to interpret direction and delegate accordingly.
-Add value to the sales process through interaction with others.
-Demonstrate respect for all associates, clients and vendors.
-Deep and solid business acumen, gained through formal training and experience.

-Independent thinker, but able to work with team (designers, creators, finance, sales, warehouse).
-Willingness to travel to the US on a monthly basis, on road trips that can last from 2 to 10 days.
-Great phone manner - able to cold call and secure interest in product.
-Ability to maturely interpret guidance and expectations set by the President.
-Vehicle & Clean Driver’s Record.
