Category: FinanceOur client is a well-established accredited vendor in the fashion industry that provides product in various categories to several major retailers. They are currently seeking a Senior Retail Business Analyst. This position will manage client deliverables, projects, and inventory levels and communicate directly with clients relating to retail analysis projects. Strong knowledge of retail math, forecasting, sales planning and a moderate knowledge of production planning is a must. This individual has to have excellent time management skills, analytical skills and be numbers oriented. Must possess the ability to work under pressure and understand time bound projects. Must have at least 5 years’ experience (retail and wholesale experience preferred) including an in-depth knowledge of Wal-Mart Retail Link.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Reporting / Analysis
- Analyze sales, inventories and replenishment requirements for all retailers / programs.
- Prepare weekly, monthly & quarterly sales reports including Scorecards & Weekly Budgets.
- Provide key performance reports (POS reports, inventory reports, ladder plans etc.)
- Organize and analyze data from available data sources (including retail link, BI and other POS systems)
- Generate sales reports and analysis to determine key drivers and slow sellers and propose exit strategies
- Analyze sales by region, traits and demographics in order to determine correct product placement in the store in order to maximize sales and reduce weeks on hand.
- Provide leadership and guidance to other analyst within the retail analytical team
- Proactive MD proposals prior to MD effective dates.
- Collaborate with buyers/replenishment managers on sales analysis results.
Scripting /Program Maintenance
- Weekly Scripting on type 03 Orders to maintain proper WOS at WM. Maintain a balance in support of WM needs and maintain positive impact on company. Communicate to the WM analyst on balances, plan- scripting strategies. Download monthly Forecast by Category- Analyse report and determine if inventory is required. Update Forecast/Production on a weekly basis and check against forecast.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining CPFR policies. Maintain DD, seasonal profile, C-Stock. Comp-Stock, PBI controls, Review Time, Lead Time, Forecast Type, Min/Max smoothing, review forecast metrics.
- Update and maintain clear in stock on type 33 and propose buy plan with ETD / ETA dates.
- Maintain an active item list and store trait list of all programs.
- Advertising- Keep track of dates and deliveries- analyses performance- supply COE
- Provide key performance reports (POS reports, inventory reports, ladder plans etc.)
Forecasts / Budgets
- Generate sales forecasts for all replenishment programs and identify the key variances between current trend and current forecast
- Communicate internally with key account sales people and senior managers to ensure short and long term forecasting is aligned.
- Monthly deep dive into open orders with RDM
- Prepare WM/Sears/Target forecast for each season and review with RBM and Sales team on strategy.
- Responsible to maintain proper flow of Blanks, reviews based on sales and communicate the required changes to RDM and Sales teams and re-flow blanks.
- Provide analysis, recommendations and insights on key replenishment programs
- Responsible to create / maintain budget reports, AR Planner, review the shipping plan based on WM performance of the category, review On Hand and in the Pipe to maintain adequate WOS. Benchmark is 9 turns
Inventory Management
- Manage on-hand target inventory levels
- Perform weekly analysis of warehouse inventory, store inventory and production inventory
- Balance of product to be actively managed and ensure product is shipped prior to seasonal MD in effect.
Constant Improvement Metrics
- Participate in identifying and developing new methods, procedures, opportunities and improvements to existing tools and systems.
- Work with the retail replenishment teams on forecasting, scripts, markdowns, in stock levels and meet all MABD dates
- Establish a relationship with the replenishment managers, planners and buyers that will enable us to drive the business and improve replenishment strategies
General
- Responsible for License Ad-Hoc requests and analysis
- Communicate packing instruction to Operations / Rework Dept.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in retail analysis with specific knowledge in Retail Link
- Must be computer literate with extensive knowledge of Excel and Outlook
- Effective communicator
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
