This is a Permanent, Full-time position.
Category: DesignOur client is a major apparel/accessory supplier. They require a Product Designer to join there team. This person will work with the Merchandising Manager on the design and merchandising of branded and private label programs from concept through to finished product. The key aspect is to interpret trends and create commercially viable programs that strategically support brand and/or key account initiatives.
Main Responsibilities:
Interprets the seasonal mood and colour trends working with the Design and Merchandising Team based on merchandising plan.
Designs and creates CADs for all styles and programs. Ensures timely development of line by adhering to time and action calendar.
Prepares design presentations for review meetings as well as formats for product development.
Prepares presentation boards, planograms, binders and mock-up displays.
Develops packaging concepts as required including seasonal POP.
Organizes and maintains library of seasonal files and controls shared files to ensure most updated file is in circulation.
Manages program/brand roadmap listing and planning.
Catalogues and manages all inspiration samples along with samples in development for upcoming programs.
Works with Merchandising manager on all sample approvals
Creates new product and prepack display requests and works with product coordinators to get styles set up in the system.
Supports licensing requirements for design approvals.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years previous related work experience.
Technical experience in hosiery and/or soft goods.
Graphic Design degree/diploma ideally with fashion focus.
Advanced in Illustrator. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Photoshop.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Possess high fashion aesthetics.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Flexibility to deadline demands, seasonal schedules and to travel.
High Creativity skills.
Ability to research and follow fashion trends.
Ability to deconstruct product and brand elements and utilize it in product design.
Meticulous with product design work.
Highly detail oriented.
Self motivating.
Ability to communicate ideas and concepts effectively.
Ability to handle deadlines and multitask.
Must be legal to work in Canada.
