As a Senior Technical Designer in the Technical Design Department, you will be part of the team responsible for translating the creative vision into actionable blueprints for product development. You will execute style detail trend research, detail design, and the development of style specifications. And, with your valuable contribution to the business in this role, you will be rewarded and recognized for your expertise and impact.
1. DETAIL TREND
To identify upcoming trends in style details
a) Runway – Discover and present style detail runway trends
b) Aspirational Marketplace – Discover and present style detail aspirational landscape trends
c) Inspirational Marketplace – Discover and present style detail inspirational landscape trends
d) Street-style – Discover and present style detail street-style trends
e) Influencers – Discover and present style detail influencer trends
f) Trend Forecasters – Discover and present style detail trend forecaster trends
g) Tradeshows – Discover and present style detail tradeshow trends
2. DETAIL DESIGN
To design the style details for the line
a) Secondary Fabrics – Design and select secondary fabrics for the collection
b) Linings – Design and select lining fabrics for the collection
c) Unlogo'd Trims – Design and select un-logoed trims for the collection
3. SPECIFICATIONS
To create actionable blueprints
a) Technical Illustration – Develop precise technical drawings, ensuring that Creative Design vision is expertly captured
b) Bill of Materials – Input accurate information on the bill of materials for all styles in the collection
c) Detail Specifications – Input accurate specifications for all style details in the collection
d) Product Packaging Specifications – Input accurate specifications for all product packaging including labels and stock tickets in the collection
The Senior Technical Designer will possess the following qualifications:
- Degree in Technical Design or equivalent
- 4+ years’ technical design experience
- High level of precision in all technical specifications
- Excellent attention to detail in technical flats and technical packs
- Expert computer illustration skills
- Demonstrated ability to mentor associates
