pecific sewing tasks
Follow directions as provided by the Production Manager.
Communicate directly with the Production Manager with regards to the process, sewing, issues with the sewing machines.
Clean sewing machine at start and end of shift.
Set-up sewing machine.
Sew a variety of different garments with different fabrics using different patterns.
Work collaboratively with fellow sewers, and assistant sewer.
Ensure quality requirements are met based on instructions/specification/ training.
Be punctual and ready to work when starting work or after breaks.
Working with the cleaner maintain a clean safe immediate workspace.
Follow all Safety Regulations and report all hazards, injuries, and accidents to the lead sewer immediately.
Skills:
Great communication and teamwork skills
Good work ethic, honest, patient, reliable and careful
Able to carry, push, and pull materials up to 30 lbs
Effective problem-solving techniques
Knowledgeable on patterns (ability to adjust flat patterns to custom measurements)
High level of attention to detail in sewing, and finishing
Ability to receive projects and process in a timely manner while understanding priority needs
Must pass a sewing test
Experience:
Intermediate sewer with 3 years’ experience - preferred but not required.
Experience with industrial sewing machines (Straight Stitch, Serger, Double Needle, Cylinder Arm, UltraSonic)
