We are looking for a full time Senior Garment Technician with experience predominately in women's fashions, who has vast knowledge in knitwear to join our team.
This person should be highly organized, efficient, and a team player. The Garment Technician will work closely with the designer, product developer and overseas factories.
Must possess experience using CAD systems for a minimum of 2-5 years, preferably PAD software. Lectra Software and Gerber are fairly similar.
Issue precise guidelines for the fit, size specifications and construction of garments
Lead fit sessions with live models
Make comments and manage timelines of prototypes in a clear, descriptive, timely manner and communicate with our overseas factories
Manage all aspects of technical design including precise technical sketches, spec packs, trim approvals and details for overseas suppliers
Manage and update pattern work in progress and follow up production and delivery schedules * Identifying and assisting in resolving problems during production process in relation to fit and construction.
Maintain sample library from prototypes through production * Delegate work within the pattern department and streamline the process for creating/altering patterns Qualifications
Diploma in Fashion Design or related field
3-5 years experience as a fit technician/ patternmaking/ grading
Excellent knowledge of garment construction * Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator. Photoshop and Indesign an asset
Strong organizational skills
Ability to adapt to a fast paced changing environment
Excellent communication skills
