Job Description / Duties

As a Pattern Maker, you’ll be responsible for facilitating MEC’s product development and contract manufacturing by producing patterns from design concept through to production ready status for all sewable MEC labeled product.

You work with an inclusive, hands-on, collaborative group that connects people with quality products to encourage active outdoor lives. You’ll always be learning, and there’s a good chance your co-workers will inspire you to try something new, like riding in a Fondo, bouldering or paddleboarding.

What you do:

Produce patterns from design concepts through to production ready status creating and maintaining all digital files.
Advise in determining the most efficient and suitable construction methods for the product.
Provide an ongoing contribution to the preparation and updates of PLM Specification Packages.
Participate in fitting/review sessions.
Resolve patterning issues as required; including communications, instruction, modifications in illustrator as necessary.
Provide Yield Estimates.
Review and check samples thru the different development stages to ensure adherence to pattern, construction details and specifications.
Provide back-up assistance for grading and sizing, as necessary.
Provide back-up for producing accurate production markers, whenever necessary, for MEC contractors.
Undertake projects as required by the Pattern Team Lead.
Travel to our vendor partners, as needed.

Qualifications / Required Skills

What you bring:

3-5 years pattern making experience.
Gerber Accumark, Adobe Illustrator and PLM systems knowledge.
MS office; word and excel user.
Knowledge of various sewing techniques, construction methods and raw materials knowledge.
You love problem solving and trouble shooting.
Experience working with knits and wovens, from outerwear to baselayer.
Excellent attention to detail – some might call you nitpicky – because you know small things matter.
Good English communication skills – you listen first, then share knowledge. This goes for both speaking and writing.
A good team player, even when things get a little busy.
You get outside as often as you can #goodtimesoutside

Have 3D/Digital pattern making experience on your resume.
