The main goal of the International Sales Manager is to manage and oversee the company’s International sales activities for all countries except Europe and be an integral part of the company’s management team. Critical are cost effective programs intended to maximize sales and brand exposure internationally. This position will report to the Vice President Sales and Marketing.
Work with the VP Sales & Marketing to define and execute an international expansion plan as well as prioritizing markets and determine market entry strategy for new countries and regions.
Engage a range of distribution partners, including distributors in each regional market and maximize the amount of distributors in each territory.
Actively seek new partners in key markets, look for customer trends and market feedback to anticipate new market and partner opportunities.
Create and execute on a process for distributor assessment and appointment.
Develop and implement product pricing, sales promotions and distribution channel incentives to retain and grow key accounts.
Track distributor performance against leading indicators, continually re-evaluating partnerships.
Obtain critical sales forecasting information from each distributor to provide to senior management.
Provide distributors with company marketing materials, branding guidelines, and other sales support.
Provide critical feedback from distributors for the Product Development Committees for all products.
Assist the CFO with financial planning and budget preparation as it related to sales and prepare all special studies and analysis as required by senior management and make specific recommendations.
Marketing and Promotional:
Manage and promote all aspects of the company’s involvement in International trade shows and other sales related events.
Seek out, respond to and manage promotional opportunities, such as media related (print, radio, TV) demos and other promotional events.
Work with the VP Sales & Marketing on organizing and conducting sales meetings.
Work with distributors and sales on the development and placement of POP as well as shop in shop opportunities.
Provide the Brand Ambassadors with critical information on new and existing products and train them on how to sell these products to our distributor network.
Provide the Brand Ambassadors with critical sales tools designed to increase our knowledge of each specific distributor and their account base, gather the information, and present back the findings to senior management.
Principal measures of Performance:
Report sales P/L, forecasts, and budgets to provide high-level picture of international sales on a regular basis.
Set aggressive targets and devise concrete plans to achieve them on both an international and individual market level.
Effectiveness and timeliness of the company’s marketing initiatives, specifically demonstrated by growth of brand awareness and sales.
Performance against budget and contribution to the general management of the company.
Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.
Minimum of 5 years work experience in a related role.
Strong analytical skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Proven track record as a successful sales manager.
Experience managing and developing direct reports.
Strategic thinker, innovative, creative and collaborative.
Ability to travel.
